FOAMSTAB 5550 is a high-performance, silicone-free polymer-based defoamer and air-release additive designed to eliminate entrapped air, micro-bubbles, pinholes and internal voids in coating and resin systems. It is engineered for applications where surface clarity, gloss uniformity and defect-free films are critical—especially in natural stone coatings applied on marble, granite, sandstone, terrazzo and engineered stone.
In natural stone epoxy, acrylic, unsaturated polyester resin (UPR) and PU coating systems, air entrapment can occur during mixing, rolling, brushing or spraying, as well as from micro-pores within the stone surface. FOAMSTAB 5550 efficiently releases trapped air before film curing, resulting in smooth, pore-free, crystal-clear coatings with enhanced aesthetic appeal.
Being silicone-free, FOAMSTAB 5550 avoids common issues associated with silicone defoamers such as intercoat adhesion problems, surface slip defects or recoat sensitivity, making it particularly suitable for multi-layer stone coating systems and premium architectural finishes. The product is effective across a wide range of resin chemistries and processing conditions, from ambient-curing systems to higher-viscosity formulations .
