GFLAM-X25 is a halogen-free, phosphorus–nitrogen-based flame retardant designed specifically for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulation and jacketing systems. It imparts excellent dielectric strength, high comparative tracking index (CTI), and superior volume/surface resistivity, making it ideal for wire and cable compounds. Engineered to comply with UL 94 V-0 and IEC 60332 standards, it ensures low smoke density and non-toxic gas emission during combustion. GFLAM-X25 maintains thermal and electrical stability under humid and high-voltage environments, offering long-term safety for enclosed installations.
GFLAM-X25 also promotes rapid char formation and condensed-phase protection, helping PVC compounds resist flame spread and dripping under high heat flux. It is formulated for good dispersion in typical PVC dry-blends and cable compounding, supporting stable extrusion/injection processing with consistent surface finish. The phosphorus–nitrogen synergy improves self-extinguishing behavior while helping reduce afterflame and afterglow in properly balanced formulations. GFLAM-X25 is designed to retain key electrical insulation properties even in moisture-prone installations, supporting reliable performance at elevated humidity and under long-term voltage stress. It can be used in both insulation and jacketing layers where a balance of flame retardancy, mechanical integrity, and electrical safety is required. The additive package is engineered to minimize adverse effects on tensile strength, elongation, and flexibility when optimized with the plasticizer/stabilizer system. It is suitable for formulations targeting low-smoke, low-toxicity fire behavior compared with conventional halogen/antimony-based systems, while maintaining cable-grade resistivity and tracking resistance. GFLAM-X25 can be integrated with common smoke suppressants and mineral fillers (as needed) to tune smoke density, char strength, and processability. It supports robust performance across typical service temperature swings and enclosed cable routing where heat build-up and limited ventilation increase risk. Recommended loading is formulation-dependent (polymer type, filler level, plasticizer, stabilizers, and target standard), and should be finalized through lab trials for UL/IEC test compliance. Typical end-uses include building wire, control cables, instrumentation cables, appliance wiring, conduit/casing compounds, and specialty PVC profiles where fire safety and electrical insulation are both critical.
