GFLAM - PNZB1

GFLAM-PNZB1 is a multifunctional halogen-free flame retardant system engineered by combining phosphorus–nitrogen (P–N) synergism with zinc borate (ZB) to deliver enhanced flame suppression, reduced smoke generation, and a strong, cohesive carbonaceous char. The P–N mechanism promotes rapid condensed-phase char formation and self-extinguishing behavior, while zinc borate contributes smoke suppression, endothermic cooling, and formation of protective borate/oxide barrier layers that reinforce the char and reduce flame propagation. Together, this hybrid system improves thermal shielding and limits heat, oxygen, and fuel transfer during burning—supporting safer fire performance without halogens.

GFLAM-PNZB1 is designed for broad formulation flexibility in polyolefins, epoxy resins, and thermoset composite matrices where a balance of flame resistance, smoke control, and mechanical retention is required. In polyolefins and cable compounds, it can be used to build HFFR packages aiming for improved ignition resistance and controlled burning behavior. In epoxy and composite systems, it helps develop robust char layers that protect reinforcement and reduce surface degradation under heat exposure, often improving afterglow and smoke behavior compared to single-mechanism FR systems. Its synergistic blend approach can reduce the overall dependency on high filler loading by improving FR efficiency (exact performance depends on resin chemistry, fillers, and processing). Compliance with UL 94, EN 13501, and ASTM E84 is formulation- and thickness-dependent and should be verified through standardized testing after lab optimization. Recommended loading and the need for secondary synergists (carbon source, mineral fillers, smoke suppressants, coupling agents) should be finalized via trials for the target substrate and processing route.

Safety & Hazards

Handle as an industrial chemical product; avoid breathing dust and avoid contact with eyes/skin

Use PPE: safety glasses, gloves, protective clothing; dust mask/respirator where dust can form.

Provide local exhaust ventilation during weighing, charging, and mixing.

Maintain good housekeeping to prevent dust accumulation.

First aid: rinse eyes with water; wash skin with soap and water; move to fresh air if dust is inhaled.

Refer to the latest SDS for hazard classification, exposure limits, and regulatory requirements.

Storage & Handling Guidelines

Store in original, tightly closed containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area.
